Senior Capstone Project — Brand Identity Design

Introduction

Ripple Coffee Co. is a conceptual coffee brand that prioritizes clean ingredients to promote gut health and balance within the body. The mindful ingredients and warm atmosphere set begin a ripple effect in the body and mind — redefining the coffee experience as a ritual of restoration rather than rush.


Design Concept

The identity centers around the idea that “Balance Starts Within.” The name Ripple symbolizes how small moments of calm can spread outward, influencing one’s day in subtle but powerful ways. The logo and supporting visuals were designed to visually capture that same sense of flow and equilibrium.

Logo Design

The primary wordmark serves as the focal point of the brand. Its custom type treatment features soft, fluid curves and rhythmic spacing that mimic the gentle motion of water. The “R” and “p” forms subtly echo waves, creating visual continuity while maintaining legibility. The secondary “Coffee Co.” in a refined serif balances the composition with a touch of sophistication and craft.

Color Palette

A warm, neutral background paired with deep coffee brown tones establishes a sense of grounded calm and organic warmth. The palette was intentionally minimal to allow the brand’s texture, typography, and photography to carry the emotional weight. Together, the colors evoke comfort, nature, and the ritual of a morning brew.

Typography

Ripple’s typography system combines modern sans-serif typefaces with softer, rounded letterforms that reflect the brand’s approachable personality. The visual rhythm of the text mirrors the brand’s central theme of calm yet intentional movement. Clean lines and generous white space create balance across all layouts.

Social Media

On social media, a consistent use of soft gradients, natural textures, and minimal composition reinforces Ripple’s mindful tone. Photography highlights real moments of connection — quiet mornings, slow pours, and intentional pauses — bringing authenticity to the brand’s storytelling.

Brand Application

The brand identity extends seamlessly across packaging, apparel, and digital platforms.

Outcome

The final identity embodies a modern coffee culture rooted in wellness and simplicity. Ripple Coffee Co. feels fresh yet timeless — a brand that invites customers to slow down, breathe, and enjoy life’s smaller moments.
